Higher Learning Academy is an International School in the Del Paso Heights area. We are excited to offer an internationally focused education that will enrich the culturally diverse city of Sacramento. Our teaching philosophy celebrates the many ways people work together to construct meaning and make sense of the world. Through the interplay of asking, doing, and thinking this constructive approach leads towards an open and democratic classroom where every scholar has a voice and important role to play in the learning of all. We infuse the Common Core State Standards through the lens of IB (International Baccalaureate) to create a connected and innovative learning experience for all of our scholars.

 

We offer many programs that focus on the whole child such as foreign language and physical education, and we are working towards integration of art and music. It is our goal to partner with parents and families to meet the on-going needs of our community. We provide many opportunities for parent involvement and input in school activities.

Higher Learning Academy is a candidate school* for the MYP. This school is pursuing authorization as an IB World School. IB World Schools share a common philosophy- a commitment to high-quality, challenging, international education- that we believe is important for our students.
