HLA supported “Stomp the Stigma with Strawberries,” an effort to increase awareness about mental illness. This effort was driven by Julie Welch Andersen, parent of a fourth grade student, and Mrs. Oi, Kindergarten teacher. Mrs. Andersen is leading a team in the Northern California walk for the National Alliance of Mental Illness (NAMI). The walk is occurring Saturday, May 7th in Land Park.
Many students and adults alike delighted in the chocolate dipped strawberries (dipped by our own students) and strawberry cake pops, as well as strawberry banana bread and strawberry shortcake. We were able to raise over $200 for this important effort! Thank you HLA!!!
